Travelling by train

Did you know that a kilometre travelled by car is over 15 times more harmful to the environment than a kilometre travelled by train?

The Wilder Kaiser region is served by the nearby Kufstein train station, which affords easy and quick access to train services. From there, the public buses and the train station shuttle will take you comfortably to your booked accommodation.

Those who spend their holidays in the Wilder Kaiser region have typically done a bit of planning. Sometimes, however, transport by bus or car is unavoidable. Especially when it comes to short distances, combining planned errands directly with a walk through the beautiful landscape is easy.

Examples include a trip to the supermarket, a visit to the tourist info, or a journey with the cable car.

Exploring the region on foot has yet another nice side effect: you move more slowly and therefore have much more time to discover the little things along the way while perceiving nature with all your senses.

Exploring the region by bike

Riding your bike through the Wilder Kaiser region is much faster than going on foot, but still allows you to be immersed in the outdoor environment. The four Wilder Kaiser villages of Ellmau, Going, Scheffau and Söll are connected by an excellent network of cycle trails.

Thanks to modern drive technologies, getting around doesn’t always have to be strenuous. E-bikes are great for travelling longer distances with some ups and downs.

✔ avoid over-packing the car to save weight
✔ switch off the engine during breaks and during traffic jams
✔ don’t use energy guzzling technologies such as air conditioning or heated seats
